The Santa Fe and Frisco Railroads once
faithfully served the Paris area. The line was originally built in 1888 by the Paris
and Great Northern Railroad Company. Fortunately, Paris still can still boast of a
majestic structure remaining from those wonderful days of railroading...
The Santa Fe - Frisco Depot
The depot is located on the south side of Bonham Street west of the downtown square in
Paris. The occasional rail traffic on the remaining rail is handled by the Chaparel
Sub of the Kiamichi Railroad based in Hugo, Oklahoma and owned by StatesRail. Oddly enough, occasional passenger excursions run
by the Hugo
Heritage Railroad allow passengers to once again board a train here at the depot.
Below are a few pictures of this beautifully designed structure taken in 1995.
Enjoy!
