  • 08/10/2022: A current graduate student (Nikhil Kanuri)'s paper has been accepted for Silicon Valley Cybersecurity Conference (SVCC'22). The title of the paper is "Zero-day Malware Detection using Threshold-free Autoencoding Architecture".

  • 11/10/2021: A current graduate student (Chiho Kim)'s paper has been accepted for IEEE Big Data 2021. The title of the paper is "Zero-day Malware Detection using Threshold-free Autoencoding Architecture".
  • 05/11/2021: Dr. Kim joins as a co-chair to organize IFIP WAIN 2021 (Workshop on AI in Networks and Distributed Systems), which will be held in conjunction with IFIP Performance 2021 (Nov. 8-12, 2021).
  • 05/03/2021: Dr. Kim's paper has been short-listed for the best paper award in IEEE ICBC 2021 (International Conference on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency).
  • 02/20/2021: A paper by a former student (Makiya Nakashima), entitled "Automated Feature Selection for Anomaly Detection in Network Traffic Data," has been accepted for ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems (TMIS).
  • 06/23/2020: Dr. Kim has joined Program Committee for the Workshop on AI in Networks and Distributed Systems (WAIN 2020) in IFIP Performance 2020.
  • 06/22/2020: A paper by a former student (Jinhwan Choi) has been accepted for Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing (JPDC). The title of the paper is "Learning-based dynamic cache management in a cloud."
  • 06/15/2020: A paper by a former student (Sunhee Baek) has been accepted for a journal of Digital Communications and Networks, with a title of "Clustering-based Label Estimation for Network Anomaly Detection."
  • 04/27/2020: A paper by a former student (Mohammad Al Olaimat) has been accepted for the 29th International Conference on Computer Communications and Networks (ICCCN 2020), which is one of the premier conferences in networking. The title of paper is "A Learning-based Data Augmentation for Network Anomaly Detection."
  • 04/19/2020: A paper by a current student (Makiya Nakashima) has been accepted for the 3rd International Workshop of Systems and Network Telemetry and Analytics (SNTA 2020). The title of paper is "Evaluation of Deep Learning Models for Network PerformancePrediction for Scientific Facilities."
  • 01/31/2020: Dr. Kim will be chairing the 3rd International Workshop on Systems and Network Telemetry and Analytics(SNTA2020), held in conjunction with HPDC 2020.
  • 09/20/2019: A paper of a former student (Taejoon Kim) has been accepted for International Conference on Computing, Networking and Communications (ICNC'20). The title of paper is "QoS-enabled Cache Architecture for a Private Cloud".
  • 09/11/2019: A journal article has been accepted for the publication in IEEE Access journal, entitled "An Empirical Evaluation of Deep Learning for Network Anomaly Detection," which is an extension of a conference paper published in ICNC 2018.
  • 04/30/2019: Dr. Kim will be chairing the 2nd International Workshop on Systems and Network Telemetry and Analytics(SNTA'19), held in conjunction with HPDC 2019.
  • 11/08/2018: Taejoon Kim's paper has been accepted for the workshop in IEEE Big Data 2018. The title of the paper is "An Encoding Technique for CNN-based Network Anomaly Detection."
  • 10/25/2018: A former student, Justin Tharp's paper has been accepted for the journal of Digital Communications and Networks. The title of the paper is "Improving Signature Quality for Network Application Identification."
  • 10/18/2018: Dr. Kim will give an invited talk in the Multi-Scale Heat Transfer Workshop held in UT Dallas in Nov. 16, 2018. The title of talk is "Machine Learning and Learning-based Approach for Network Security."
  • 07/21/2018: An article has been accepted to be published in the Journal of Computer Science and Technology (JCST), Springer. The title of the article is " New Approach to Multivariate Network Traffic Analysis", which was recommended by ICCCN2016 for journal publication.
  • 04/19/2018: An article has been accepted to be published in the Computing Journal, Springer, which is entitled "Multivariate Network Traffic Analysis using Clustered Patterns".
  • 03/26/2018: Dr. Kim will serve as a co-chair for CIT (Computer Sciences and Information Technologies) symposium in UKC 2018 (Aug 1-4, 2018, https://ukc2018.org/).
