Authentic Assessment consists of observation - kid-watching. Writing assessment, using the tea.state.tx.us 4th Grade taks Writing Guide.pdf  (tea.state.tx.us taks booklets). Finally, we concluded w/ an examination of projects. You should have two (2) surveys on your ProfilerPro.com to do list. 
1. July 10 Your first assignment (due Tuesday, July 11) is to read chapter 8 in the Gunning (2005) textbook, and write reflectively (about one typewritten page) about your approach to reading technical texts. Read the intro questions on page 361 for framework.
What are you reading these days? Increasing our familiarity with good literature improves our teaching. Bring a favorite book (any level) to class. I'm bringing C. S. Lewis (1955) The Magician's Nephew.
