first class, Thursday, January 17, 4.30pm, MPLX Read this article before first class: Dickson, D.K., & Tabors, P.O. (March 2002). "Fostering Language and Literacy in Classrooms and Homes." Young Children, vol57, no. 2, pp. 10-18 .pdf

The MPLX bookstore has our books. Call for bookstore hours - 972-613-3878 Tues 1/22/2008 In class, we each wrote a response to Dickinson & Tabor (2002), reflecting on the significance of 2 or 3 key sentences/ statements/ claims. Now, think of the research methodology described, and the results reported. Write about the research design (e.g., validity, reliability, or generalizability) and the effectiveness of the writing reporting the results of the HomeSchool Study. Post this reflection in eCollege by 8pm, Tuesday, 1/22. My favorite shortcut to eCollege is http://online.tamuc.org/. I have better success with eCollege when I am in Microsoft Internet Explorer.
