Dr. Ogunc earned her B.A. in Business Administration from Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey in 1990. She holds MBA in Finance from Western Michigan University, M.S. and Ph.D. in Economics from Louisiana State University.

Dr. Ogunc has over fifteen years of teaching experience. She taught at Louisiana State University, Georgetown University and has been a professor of Economics and Finance at Texas A&M University-Commerce since 2004 where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in econometrics, economic and financial forecasting, macroeconomic theory and policy and international economics. She also has a wide international teaching experience including at China University of Geosciences, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Belgrade Serbia, International Institute of Higher Education in Morocco.

Dr. Ogunc has published articles journals such as Applied Financial Economics, Academy of Banking Studies, and International Journal of Business Research. Her research interests include Applied Econometrics, Forecasting, International Economics and Finance, Mutual Fund Investing, and Non-Profit Organizations.  She has presented papers in many conferences such as the Annual Conference of the Southern Economic Association, International Conference of the Society for Computational Economics, International. 

Dr. Ogunc has been serving on numerous university committees and councils. She has received multiple competitive teaching, research, and travel awards.
