For 10/4 Feast of St Francis - Open Book Exam on 5 Big Ideas, Morrow chapters 1-5, 10, pp. 254-261, & Appendix A. Bring a good story (keep a poem in your pocket!). 

For 9/27 - Phonological awareness activity: Create (beg, borrow, or steal) an activity to demonstrate ONE skill. Type up a description of your activity. Tell which type on the continuum (off that yellow piece of paper deal)

Prepare and present a storytelling activity (10%), e.g.

  1. flannel board activity for retelling a story and developing oral language skills OR
  2. a finger play activity to rehearse a nursery rhyme or poem.

Also, type up a one page description of your activity to turn in: Name of your story, Why you chose this story, Target age/grade, and then Describe your props

Your first assignment (due Wednesday, Aug 30) is to bring a book to class to read aloud. Choose a favorite. NOTE: Bring the Morrow (2005) textbook to every class (ASAP read pp 254-261 and Appendix A about different types of books).
