There was a recently published article in Newsweek (I've been working with Julie, the Newsweek writer, for the last several months giving her names and background information). A couple of us from this e-mail listserv were quoted (Dr. Steve Weber and myself). I provided many of your names but not all of you were contacted - thanks to all of you who helped make the article possible.

Here is another media need: NBC Nightly News wants to interview a young (early 30s), new male elementary school teacher - preferably in Minnesota (they want to video it all in one place). He needs to be articulate and a good teacher so that he would represent us well. He can only have graduated in the last two - three years. My male teacher contact list is mainly veteran teachers (the turnover rate of new teachers is very high) and I usually get a new listing of male teachers after conferences. Another idea I will try to pitch - is there any new male teacher who is a career changer. That is, they JUST began teaching? E-mail me that name also if you have it. And of course, I need his name ASAP (the media is always in a hurry).
