As the engines enter Tunnel #8 we get a sneak peak of Colorado's plains on the other side.  This is the tunnel which makes the transition between the front range and South Boulder Creek Canyon.
rgst076-plains-s.jpg (9668 bytes) Upon emerging from the tunnel, we are presented with the expansive view of the plains north of Denver.

As we progress farther south along the front range, the Denver skyline comes into view.
rgst078-plains-DEN-s.jpg (9523 bytes) It looks like folks on the south side of Denver may be getting a summer shower.
rgst079-Tunnel1-s.jpg (15084 bytes) Here, we are about to enter Tunnel #1, the first and last tunnel on the eastern end of the tunnel district.
