These are the operating controls in the SD40T-2 Engine.  Note:   It is an increasingly rare occurance when folks are allowed to enter engines.   Once in a while, one runs across a crew member who is kind enough to make an exception and allow a peek and perhaps a picture or two.  If you have the good fortune of finding yourself in that situation, be kind, courteous, and considerate.  These guys are doing you a favor, and putting themselves at risk, by allowing you aboard, so be careful and don't disturb anything.  If you make them sorry they invited you on, the rare occurances may turn to nonexistent.  I was very fortunate to be allowed this privledge.  Don't expect every crew to be as generous.

Jennifer trying to talk me into attempting the giant human maze at Winter Park Ski Resort.  I knew the train would be leaving in about 5 hours, so, I politely turned down the offer.
rgst046-WinterPark-Para-s.jpg (6387 bytes) What people won't do for a thrill...  This was one of three people we saw who sailed down from above.

rgst047-WinterPark-flowers-s.jpg (17146 bytes)

Poppy flowers growing in the town of Winter Park.  Downtown Winter Park is actually a couple of miles from the resort/train stop.  Free shuttle bus service is available to get you back and forth throughout the day.
rgst048-MoffatTunnel-s.jpg (17040 bytes) The Ski Train is returned to the resort later in the afternoon for passenger boarding for the return trip.  During the day, the train is turned on a wye at Tabernash and kept in a siding a few miles up the tracks in Fraser until time to return to Denver.
rgst049-WinterPark-train-s.jpg (12416 bytes) Here, riders start making their was back to the train for the return trip.
