The 2019 Symposium is dedicated to the memory of
James "Jim" Conrad, PhD.  Dr. Conrad was one of the co-founders
of our Symposium and remained an active participant and great
promoter of the event even beyond his retirement from the
University.  He came to A&M Commerce, then East Texas State
University, as a faculty member in the Department of History in 1967
and moved to the Library as University Archivist in August 1976
where he remained until his retirement in March 2010.  In 2011,
