How do very young children build their understanding of math in their acquisition and learning about the world around them? Come explore learning about math, even as young children use their native curiosity to explore and inquire. Working together, we will build a snapshot of early learning to share with parents and families, so we all can learn how smart their kid is!
Objective 1. What counts as math in I/T development?
The Texas Early Learning Council created the Infant / Toddler Early Learning Guidelines recently, and published them titled Little Texans, Big Futures www.littleTexans.org. There they view the child's developmental domain, and specify components of each domain, and then suggest appropriate behaviors that children might exhibit, and strategies for caregivers and parents to implement to support or stimulate development.
